Upcoming Teachers Tours

Campbell River, Vancouver Island
Coastal Forestry in Action

July 11 - 13, 2012

Registration is open!

Unique Pro-D experience for teachers -
A FREE three day forestry tour through Vancouver Island forests.

We are heading back to Vancouver Island for another summer adventure for teachers! This time our tour will be headquartered out of the beautiful resource community of Campbell River. We will explore the various species that make up coastal forests and examine the habitat, management, disease control and forest products associated with these forests.

How can you bring geography, social studies and science to life in your classroom? Bring the forest back to your classroom. Our three day tour will provide teachers of all levels and subject areas with curriculum-based, hands-on teaching ideas.

There will be opportunities to talk with First Nations, government, biologists, foresters, harvesters, and others. Social evening events will feature presentations and discussion. Best of all—the entire experience is absolutely FREE!

It’s not just about trees and forests; a wide range of values will be considered along the way as we visit related natural resource sites.
